Health Care Reform Legislation - Urgent Call to Action

Dear Colleagues,

We need you to act now! Please send this to everyone you know and ask that they help us.

The Health Care Reform Package, currently being debated, has impact for nurse practitioner practice. It is in the Senate Health, Eduction, Labor and Pensions committee, on which Senator Kennedy is chair.

What I need each of you to do ASAP is to email or call Senator Kennedy and ask that any health care reform bill must include nurse practitioners. It is particularly important to include us in the section that speaks to the medical home.

The AANP has prepared sample letters that you can print and fax or email to your legislators (see links below). There is also a general letter on health care reform.

This is critical and you must act now!! If we are left out of this legislation it will have huge consequences for our future practice.

Please contact Senator Kennedy, Senator Kerry and your U.S. Representatives as well. They all MUST know that we need inclusion in any health care reform package and this is the week they must hear this message.
