The MCNP is proud to recognize the professional contributions of Nurse Practitioners practice by offering annual awards that are presented at the Northeast Regional NP Conference held each May.

These awards as described below are a wonderful opportunity to honor our colleagues and highlight the work that we do as nurse practitioners.

The MCNP Distinguished NP Award recognizes a member who has made significant contributions in at least two of the following categories: professional association activities and contributions, activities supporting the public image of the NP, a role model for excellence in the provision of health care services, significant research which supports the role of the NP, or significant contributions to NP education.  (Click Here for Nomination Form)

The MCNP Exceptional Preceptor Awards recognize nurse practitioners in different regions who demonstrate excellence in the preceptor role to nurse practitioner students. This award provides an opportunity to publicly recognize the unique characteristics of the nurse practitioner who role models, teaches, and evaluates nursing students who are learning advanced nursing practice skills. There will be up to five awards presented on an annual basis at the Annual Meeting of the MCNP.  (Click Here for Nomination Form)

The Eileen Hayes Mentoring Award has been established by the Executive Board and the Awards and Nominations Committee of the MCNP in memory of Dr. Eileen (Murphy) Hayes, an inspirational educator and mentor as well as long-time MCNP member. This award honors advanced practice nurses who serve as mentors and will be presented to an advanced practice nurse (APN) who has fostered the growth and development of APNs over a number of years. The recipient demonstrates an established record of achievement mentoring students and/or colleagues in the areas of nursing practice, education, research or policy. The award will be presented at the discretion of the Awards and Nominations Committee at the Annual Meeting of the MCNP. (Click Here for Nomination Form)

The MCNP Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes nurse practitioners who have made significant lifetime contributions to nurse practitioner practice on a state (Massachusetts), national or international level.
